Miss at Home

We are at a point in our vacation where we have accumulated a few things that we miss about home. Number one is definitely reserved for FRIENDS. Chatting on the phone, which costs about $3.00 a minute from here, or simply being together. The Internet, while convenient, is a poor substitute for proximity.

If this list gets a little long, it doesn't mean that we are ready to abandon our vacation, just a compilation of the reminiscent thoughts that crop up in our minds from time to time. In no particular order:
Lettuce and celery (cabbages here as large as basketballs)
Pre-mixed salad dressing
Sliced bread
Hot water (24/7)
English language T.V.
Flushing paper in a toilet
Walking trails and sidewalks
Food labels
Skippy peanut butter
Mail (Jain's catalogs)
C.V.I. (Jain and I have different versions of this)
Washer and dryer
Sweet pickles
Raley's Market

There are of course some things that we don't miss:
In your face American politics
News media
Weather
Driving a car

What we like about here:
Weather !!!!
Local people and new friends
Beaches
Busses and ferries (Add trains and metro systems on the mainland)

What we don't like:
Tourists from _______ (you fill it in)
Three remote controls on the entertainment equipment
Feral cats and dogs (makes us sad)

The rising exchange rate for Euros
